Privacy for Trace Ahead

Last reviewed: September 2026

This page covers the mobile game Trace Ahead — a line-drawing maze where you steer an orb along a path you draw. It is written for this title only. It does not describe other products, personal websites, or unrelated services.

Who this covers

The game, not a personal site

Trace Ahead is published as a free puzzle on the App Store. When this briefing says “we,” it means the product team that operates this game. Contact for privacy questions goes through App Store support for Trace Ahead, not a private inbox or home address.

On your device

What stays in the maze

Level progress, remaining hearts, star ratings, and the last path you drew are used to run the current session. That play state is stored on the device so you can continue a maze. The game does not ask you to create an account or type a name, email, or profile.

Advertising

Usage data, ads, and tracking

Trace Ahead includes advertising. The App Store privacy labels for this game state that usage data may be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies, and that usage data and advertising data may be linked to you for third-party advertising.

Category How it shows up in this game
Usage data Signals about how the app is opened and used, which ad networks may use to measure or personalize ads.
Advertising data Information related to ad delivery, such as impressions or interaction events handled by advertising partners.
Tracking On iOS, tracking across other companies’ apps or sites only happens if Apple’s tracking permission is granted where required.

We do not sell player mailing lists. Advertising partners process data under their own rules. Review those partners inside Apple’s tracking and privacy prompts, and in the App Privacy section of the Trace Ahead store listing.

Platform

Apple handles the store layer

Downloads, updates, refunds, Family Sharing, Screen Time, and optional iCloud backups are processed by Apple under Apple’s policies. Trace Ahead does not operate a separate store account for those events.

Retention

How long records last

Local maze progress remains until you delete the app or clear the device. Advertising and measurement records held by partners last only as long as those partners need them to serve or report ads, or as required by law. We do not keep a standalone player dossier on our own servers for this game.

Ages 4+

Young players

Trace Ahead is rated 4+ and does not ask children for contact details. Because the game may show third-party ads and may process usage or advertising data as described above, a parent or guardian should decide whether the game is appropriate and should manage Apple tracking, Screen Time, and Ask to Buy settings on the device.

The game is not directed at collecting personal information from children. If you believe a child provided personal data through an ad partner flow, use the support channel below so the request can be reviewed.

Controls

What you can change

  • Allow or deny App Tracking Transparency when iOS asks.
  • Limit Ad Tracking / Personalized Ads in Apple Settings.
  • Remove local progress by deleting the app.
  • Use Apple’s privacy report and store labels for the latest partner list.
